RANGE RULES

1. Name tag must be worn at all times on the Range.
2. Center fire Rifles, Shotguns and Compensated firearms are prohibited.
3. Range in use sign must be lowered. ( At the entrance)
4. Red Flag must be raised on the pole when the Range is in use.
5. You must sign the Range Book, both when you arrive, and before leaving.
6. Do not load firearms until you are on the firing line.
7. When waiting your turn to shoot, stand behind the firing line.
8. When shooting with others, shoot in relays so that everyone has equal use of the facilities.
9. If the Range is in use when you arrive, you must join at the shooting distance established, unless the others agree to change.
10. When finished shooting, remove targets and debris and take them home.
11. When Finished lower the flag and place it in the box provided.
12. Raise the Range in use sign when leaving.
13. Close and chain the gate when leaving.
14. Hearing and eye protection is recommended.
15. Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
16. If you experience a jam or misfire when others are present, keep the gun pointing downrange and raise your free hand until all firing ceases.
17. If work has to be carried out on a firearm when others are present, notify everyone around you as to just what you are going to do.
18. Except when shooting, a firearm will be unloaded and the action open. On a revolver the cylinder is out. On a pistol the slide is pulled back and the clip removed. This is also the only condition in which a firearm should be handed to or received from another person.
19. When on the firing line all firearms point down the Range at all times.
20. Under no circumstances will firearms be pointed upwards or aimed over the backstops.
21. Shoulder holsters and cross-draw holsters are not permitted during matches, due to the fact that during the draw the gun muzzle points at others. These holsters are permitted on Range other times by consent of the other shooters.
22. No more than one firearm per person on the line at any time. No exceptions.
23. No liquor is permitted on the Range when the Range is open. Persons impaired by alcohol or drugs are prohibited.
24. MEMBERS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE LINE FOR VIOLATION OF RANGE RULES.
25. Report rule violations, or unauthorised persons using the range, to the Club Executive.
